Salisbury, Salisbury Cathedral, and Stonehenge -- July 11


St. John's College -- Lovely sunny day with some fluffy clouds.
Landscape -- On the way to Salisbury; I can't help taking pictures like this, I like the scenery!
Salisbury Canal -- What an abundance of swans!
Dachshund -- I know, I know, I can't help it.
Salisbury Cathedral 1 -- The exterior facade.
Salisbury Cathedral 2 -- Another of the exterior facade.
Sheepdog -- An english sheepdog with a long tail. How odd.
Salisbury Cathedral 3 -- Another side of the facade, but closer up.
German Kids -- These odd children wanted me to take a picture of them, with my camera. Odd.
Cloister 1 -- Along the cloister hall.
Map -- A neat old-looking map of the Salisbury diocese.
Side Hall -- A shot down one of the side halls of the cathedral.
Font -- An oddly modern font, but it was kinda interesting.

Memorial Lantern -- A pretty lantern for a memorial of a soldier killed at Normandy.

Church Chest -- A honking big chest for the church's valuables, with six locks with six keys for six different individuals. Oy!
Dragon -- Embroidered on a cushion.
Ceiling -- Unfortunately somewhat dark, but shows the detail of the painting on the ceiling.
Embroidered Chest Cover --Fancy fancy shmancy embroidered chest cover.
Stained Glass Window -- A blue series of windows at the front of the cathedral.
Fancy Crypt Thing -- One of the many little monument-ish burial areas.
Flag -- Oddly, with some two-headed crows.

Aisle 1 -- Down the central aisleway, a little dark.
Aisle 2 -- Another shot down the center, much better! A slightly different angle though.
Triforium -- A look up at the second level, the triforium, which I unfortunately couldn't tour, stupid tour groups... they conveniently forgot to look outside for people who were interested. Anyway. Neat!
Aisle 3 -- The other way down the aisle, towards the front of the church.
Effigy Caption -- There we go.
Effigy -- A neat, originally painted, effigy of a knight.
Effigy Caption 2 -- Father of the other effigy person; also the first person to be buried at the cathedral.
Aisle 4 -- Another angled shot of the central aisle architecture, but angled higher up.
Aisle 5 -- Another angle, higher up, of the central aisle edge.
Cloister 2 -- Another view of the cloister.
Cloister 3 -- In the courtyard in the middle of the cloister, a shot of the tower.
Cloister 4 -- A different shot of the tower from the same place.
Cloister 5 -- Another shot of the tower, but closer up.
Cloister 6 -- A shot of the long part of the church from the cloister.

Town Model 1 -- Mini model.

Town Arch -- An arch across one of the streets in town.
Old Sarum 1 -- Out the window of the bus, unfortunately... we couldn't make it to these neat Roman ruins. It's just the stepped hill off to the right.
Old Sarum 2 -- Another shot.

Stonehenge From Bus -- Pretty self explanatory.
Stonehenge Closer -- Still in the bus, you can see the ugly chainlink fence.
Car Park -- Overflow parking and the pretty fields.
Fields -- Out past the car park. Sheep too!
Stonehenge 1 -- Only one tourist. =)
Stonehenge 2 -- Again, only one tourist in the background. I rock.
